The Sketchbook Project asks artists of all levels to complete a small book with ideas, drawings and sketches. I recently completed my sketchbook and below a preview page can be seen. My book is called ‘Fashion Design For Monsters’. I’ve posted up several pages from this and here is another one. A quick photo taken of one of the pages.

Another 4 images here. I am looking at the form of the clothes and getting away from pattern and style. I may put all my fashions illustrations together as a pdf document, as at the moment I am currently using Indesign for presentations. I believe that these images could work well in a book, but all that depends on how much spare time I have.

Another group of images from my fashion illustration series. It is nice to get away form the computer and draw in pencil and ink. I have previously looked at character, style, pattern and costume, but with these images I wanted to look at anatomy. This is something I have more experience in, but here it is in the context of fashion.

With these images I’m looking at costume design and character. Using pencil and fine liners to get different results I am trying to express the different emotions that the costumes can present. I am also taking influences from the photography of Helmut Newton and the fashion designs of Thierry Mugler.
