Overshare

Overshare is an intimate and personal story that takes an in depth look at what it is like to constantly share your feeling with strangers, loved ones and random people. It is a perzine, comic and handmade zine. It asks questions on when, and if, it is ok to share your emotions with unfamiliar people and those close to you.

The comic does not make a distinct conclusion, instead it draws the reader in and asks if they are complicit in oversharing their feelings. Self-care, solitude and mental health are considered throughout. The story is told from the perspective of the writer and artist, where a queer, autistic and working class point of view is presented.

The zine is available to buy here.

You will like Overshare if you enjoy indie comics, unique stories and personal narratives. It takes elements of Diary Comics, Perzines and Graphic Medicine to give a careful, distinctive and intimate approach to comic book storytelling in a DIY and self-published format.

Biphobic Messages sent to me on Dating Apps

You can buy the zine here

Having now spent more time than I care to admit on dating apps, I thought it was time to make a zine about my experiences. Biphobic Messages Sent to me on Dating Apps is a perzine that captures some of the ignorance I have received from an array of people that seem to be annoyed by my sexuality.

Biphobic Messages Sent to me on Dating Apps doesn’t look at the psychology or reasoning behind the messages; it gives a selection of the messages and leaves the reader to draw their own conclusions. (This excludes some notes and comments from the author.)

The zine features illustrations and is an experimental and personal comic book zine. Obviously it comes with a massive content warning for biphobia. I catalogue my experiences either different apps do my best not to get angry.

You’ll like Biphobic Messages Sent to me on Dating Apps if you enjoy indie comics, queer comics, perzines and experimental storytelling.

How to Live With Grief

How to Live With Grief is a mini-zine in an envelope – with a few extra bits and pieces. The zine presents a method of how to live with grief. It was made during a stressful and solemn period of the artists and zine-makers life when they were trying to cope with great loss. The mini-zine does not propose a solution to grief, or a guide to going through the grieving process. It just presents how grieving can occur in many ways and how space and time can help.

The zine features words and illustrations. It is contained in an envelope to emphasise the personal and careful way the zine was put together.

You will like How to Live With Grief if you enjoy indie comics, unique stories and personal narratives. It takes elements of Diary Comics, Perzines and Graphic Medicine to give a careful, distinctive and intimate approach to comic book storytelling in a DIY and self-published format.

Glasgow Comic Con – 1 June 2024

I am doing a lot less events this year, as I am concentrating on new work. I expect I will be doing even less next year as well. Therefore I am pleased to take part in Glasgow Comic Con on 1 June 2024. The event is taking place at The Royal Concert Hall, Killermont Street, Glasgow G2 3NY

I will have no new comics or zines for sale, but this will be the last time in quite a while that I will be selling my comic and zines in person in Glasgow. I plan on doing a lot more comics and zine events in 2026. I had a busy 2022 and 2023 and I want to come back with lots of new stuff.

Awkward Silence – New Comic

Awkward Silence is a personal comic book that looks at quietness and solitude in a loud world. The story follows the creator as they look at how loudness and quietness has affected them and changed how they communicate with other people and their environment. Being mute and not being able to speak has many implications and these are delicately presented in this intimate and experimental comic book memoir.

Awkward Silence is personal and expressive and will connect with readers who love zines, comics and outsider art.
Each copy is unique. The cover features hand stitching, where each individual copy has been sewn and hand bound.

Awkward Silence will appeal to people who like zines, perzines, queer zines and comics, graphic memoirs and graphic medicine comics.

New Zine – NeuroQueer Cat Apocalypse

page black and white comic book zine + a cat badge 38mm (1.5inches)

The Zine + Badge can be bought here.

A large destructive cat is hurtling towards planet earth. If it hits, the cat will surely destroy the planet and all the people who live on it.

NeuroQueer Cat Apocalypse is a comic with a difference. You are asked 10 questions throughout the zine. You need to answer the questions from an autistic and queer perspective in order to survive. Answer correctly the planet is saved. Answer incorrectly and we all die.

NeuroQueer Cat Apocalypse combines humour, comic books and provocative questions to ask questions on autistic identity and the place of the autistic person in society. Each page features illustration and text, presenting an autistic and perspective on life.

The zine comes with a badge of a cat. The badge is in colour and zine is in black and white.

Designed and hand made by Steven Fraser.

Note this zine is not for kids.

New Zine for Sale – Misremembering Sarah Kane

I have a new zine for sale!

Misremembering Sarah Kane Through My Own Suicide Attempts is a comic book zine about my own experiences with mental health, suicide and self harm. The zine features text, essays and comics. It is an abstract retelling of how I confuse my memories with my experiences of watching and reading plays by the cult 1990’s playwright Sarah Kane. I use comic books as a means to discuss being a suicide survivor and how this can affect memory and personal experiences.

Sarah Kane (3 February 1971 – 20 February 1999) was an English playwright who is known for her plays that deal with themes of redemptive love, sexual desire, pain, torture—both physical and psychological—and death.
